Environmental Chief of Staff Couldn't Take the Heat Over Global Warming June 13, 2005 It looks like Philip Cooney couldn't take the global warming heat: he quit his post as chief of staff at the White House Council on Environmental Quality over the weekend, saying he's "considering his options." Documents leaked to a whistle-blower project and published last week in New York Times showed that Mr Cooney repeatedly deleted warnings in official policy papers about climate change. He also emphasised doubts about the scientific research into greenhouse gases.Guess somebody got the call that it was time to take one for the team. Look for Mr. Cooney to turn up soon as a highly-paid lobbyist once again. Tags: environment | globalwarming Permalink| | | Comments (View) | | blog comments powered by Disqus |
